2007-12-21-overwatch.jpgAnother hole appeared in the Al Qaeda/ Taliban boat.  The water is up around Osama’s knees, Zawahiri launched a new Q and A website (www.liars_r_us.com?), the Taliban voted in a “new” leader, relegated Omar to deputy and still the water is rising.

Sayyed Imam al-Sharif, the author of "Foundations (Mainstays) of Preparation for Holy War", considered the theological cornerstone of modern-day jihadist operations has released a new manifesto from his Egyptian Prison Cell.  Mr. Sharif, also known as Dr. Fadl and Abd al-Qadir ibn Abd al-Aziz, was among those originally arrested following the assassination of Anwar Sadat in 1981, along with his recognized protégé, Ayman al-Zawahri.  Sharif’s new stance begins with the following…

There were several different ways in which modern-day Muslims seeking Islamic law in modern days chose to respond to those countries in power.  Some Islamic groups have resorted to clashing with the ruling authorities in the country or countries in the name of jihad in the way of Allah Almighty in order to spread Islam.  These clashes have spread to different countries from the far east to the far west.

But these clashes have included many violations of Islamic law such as murder, murder because of the color of a person's skin or hair, the murder of Muslims and non-Muslims, using people as shields, wasting of money, damage to property, and others.

These violations of Shari'a bring nothing but the resentment and indignation of God.

When a Muslim sets a goal for himself that is greater than  his ability or that does not suit his situation then it is never permission in Islam to use an illegal (under Shari'a) method to accomplish the goal even if the goal is justified (under Shari'a)

"Allah doth know those of you who slip away under shelter of some excuse: then let those beware who withstand the Messenger's order, lest some trial befall them, or a grievous chastisement be inflicted on them." (Qu'ran - Nur: 63)

This is one more sign of Al Qaeda’s impending demise and it is dragging the Taliban with it.  Zawahiri admits to the crumbling of his organization in a recent statement when he warned of the “presence of hypocrites and traitors among the ranks of the mujahedeen working and fighting for the Americans."  We have been inundated with statements as bin Laden, Mullah Omar, Qari Yousef Ahmadi, and Baitollah Masud, the reportedly newly elected leader of the Taliban, as they frantically bail water from their sinking ship.  During the recent operations in Musa Qala, the Taliban spokesman, Qari Yousef Ahmadi’s announcements were reminiscent of the 2003 Iraqi statements denying the American Army’s presence at Baghdad International Airport, the sounds of gunfire and landing C17 aircraft were missing as Ahmadi called his reports in via cell phone from the safety of Pakistan.  Each of his lies was exposed as he shifted from…

Taliban commanders said that many of their 2,000 fighters - a figure the British dispute - were prepared to fight to the death while others would launch suicide bombing attacks against advancing coalition troops”

By then the Afghan National Army along with their British and American allies were inexorably moving into the city.  So he switched to…

Qari Yousef Ahmadi, the main spokesman for the Taliban, who is not in Musa Qala, told The Sunday Telegraph: "We are fighting back with our heavy weapons and with ambushes.  We have air defense facilities with us. If their helicopters come they will face retribution. And we have fedayeen suicide attackers. We have killed about 35 soldiers. Most are Afghan National Army, but a few were foreign soldiers."

The helicopters had already been there.  And left.  The ISAF Forces held their ground on the edge of town and allowed the Afghan National Army to retake their city, themselves.  As the triumphant Afghan Soldiers were raising their flag over the District Center Ahmadi again revised his statement…

"Because of the massive bombings this morning, the Taliban didn't want to cause more casualties, so this afternoon all the Taliban left Musa Qala," the Taliban spokesman said.

But the boat continues to fill.  These statements covered the Taliban’s inability to fight the Afghan National Army the same way bin Laden’s and Zawahiri’s cover for the sinking Al Qaeda/ Taliban/ jihadi boat.

As Hamid Karzai and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan expand their Programs Takhim e-Solh the boat fills faster.  PTS encourages disaffected Taliban, HIG and other insurgents to return home and join the legitimate government.   The remarkably successful Khost Province has several PTS graduates in government positions, Taliban Shura’s or “consultations” are being planned and organized in several other provinces.  More and more insurgents have difficulty identifying the enemy.  They see the roads, power plants, schools and progress in Afghanistan and realize they may be on the wrong side.  Many Taliban fighters leave and rejoin they’re countrymen without the PTS Program.  There can be no doubt about their loyalties when they stand beside their fellow villagers and deny their former compatriots shelter, medical care, food and water or when they turn in the same compatriots to the Afghan and Coalition Forces.  This is becoming more commonplace throughout the country as the people of Afghanistan grow tired of being sacrificed for the Taliban and Al Qaeda’s misguided jihad.  IEDs are discovered, marked and turned in by citizens, weapons cache’s are reported to Afghan and Coalition Forces so they can be confiscated and destroyed before the uncaring Taliban launch rockets into a city or blow up a bus in a crowded market place.  The village elders and citizens of Afghanistan are bringing roads, commerce, electricity and the 21st Century to their neighborhoods.  The excesses of the Taliban and the lies of Al Qaeda have no place to grow.

And the boat continues to fill.
