On 05 February, Rahman Said, Foreman of the National Solidarity Project (NSP) met with Coalition Forces in the Manogai 20080208-konar-microhydro1.jpg District, Konar Province.  The National Solidarity Project funds multiple projects in Konar Province. Among those projects is a microhydro power plant currently under construction in Nangalam. When complete the microhydro will provide power for 138 homes and several shops in the bazaar. The canal will also power a flour mill that will create additional jobs. The work of the NSP has greatly contributed to the economic development of the area. Its presence also illustrates the relatively permissive and secure environment.
