Afghan National Police, Soldiers from Bravo Company 2/508 and Ghazni PRT spent January 12- 15 in Nawa providing medical aid. On January 14 the group traveled to Karawaddin, the only region with no representatives in attendance the first two days at the clinic.

Along with the medical aid the villagers were able to have a face-to-face with the sub-governor and the district police chief. PRT members set up a mini-clinic in Karawaddin and treated over 200 people.

Even though our Paratroopers don’t have the capabilities to cure all of the people’s aliments, they are able to ease pain and suffering, and give people guidance on where to seek proper care. In this picture from Karawaddin, Lieutenant (Navy) Hoekman provides medical treatment.

The main objective for the members of Bravo company was security and increasing the government’s legitimate reach, but interaction with villagers helps raise hope and promotes support for Coalition Forces and Afghan National Security Forces
