AB BAND DISTRICT, GHAZNI PROVINCE: Coalition Forces visiting the Afghan
National Police and government center in Ab Band District helped treat
a local citizen whose truck was destroyed by an insurgent IED emplaced
nearby. Coalition and Afghan forces investigated the scene and
discovered a second IED. Both were "pressure plate" type IED's, lying
in wait for the first innocent passer-by to step on or drive over the
pressure plate and activate the device. The second IED was safely
cleared and turned into Coalition Forces for further analysis.
