Lashkar Ghar, Helmand province: Afghan National Policemen noticed a suspicious looking man near the Coalition Provincial Reconstruction Team headquarters in Lashkar Ghar this morning. When they began searching him, the bomber attempted to trigger the suicide vest he was wearing beneath his clothes. The device failed to detonate, a foot chase ensued and the ANP shot and killed to suicide bomber before he escaped. This is the second IED event in Lashkar Ghar in 10 days as the Taliban continue to target the Provincial Reconstruction Team and Afghanistan’s growing infrastructure.
