Afghan National Army (ANA), Afghan National Police (ANP) and Coalition Forces conducted first aid training and practiced life-saving techniques at a combined joint military outpost in Farah Province, Afghanistan. The training is designed to provide the ANA and ANP with realistic medical scenarios and necessary life-saving steps that will save lives on the battle field. The students covered topics such as evaluating a casualty, understanding bleeding and how to control bleeding, and handling casualties while considering the extent of their injuries. This type of training is a milestone for the ANA and ANP troopers, and demonstrates the level of advancement and professionalism they are achieving as they become more and more self-sufficient and a more dynamic fighting force. All of their achievements are paying great dividends to the development of a more stable and secure Afghanistan.
