BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan (Sept. 13, 2008) – Afghan National Security Forces and Coalition forces killed two insurgents during an engagement in Nar Surkh District, Helmand province, Sept. 10.

ANSF and Coalition forces were conducting a security patrol when they heard automatic gunfire from the vicinity of an ANSF checkpoint. Upon investigation, they found militants attacking the checkpoint.

ANSF and Coalition forces engaged the militants with small-arms fire, killing two. The remaining militants fled the area.

No ANSF, Coalition forces or civilian casualties were reported.
