Coalition helicopter reports emergency landing in eastern Afghanistan

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan — A Coalition CH-47 Chinook helicopter made an emergency landing in Sorobi District, KabulProvince, today around 4 p.m. after reporting a maintenance issue.A maintenance team has been sent from Bagram Airfield to assess the helicopter and determine what repairs need to be made.There were no indications the landing was caused by enemy activity.There are no enemy forces reported in the area.The site has been secured by the passengers on board and a quick reaction force from a nearby base.There have been no reported injuries as a result from the emergency landing.The incident remains under investigation.
